Four-Star F Donnie Freeman Lists Texas in Cutdown List

Texas interim basketball coach Rodney Terry.

The Texas Longhorns continue to find their way into conversations surrounding the top recruits in college basketball with four-star power forward, Donnie Freeman, placing the Longhorns in his cutdown list.

Freeman is one of the top players in the class of 2024 and with the Longhorns consistently bringing in top talent, his commitment to the Longhorns is certainly a possibility.

Freeman is listed as a four-star prospect on the 247Sports index, as well as the 32nd-ranked player in the country, the 6th-ranked power forward, and the top-ranked player in the District of Colombia.

“Texas is a school I liked a lot growing up, with their playing style and some players they had that I watched like Kevin Durant and Greg Brown. Now being heavily recruited by them is really cool. I built a strong relationship with the staff so I’m comfortable with them as well as Maryland’s staff,” Freeman told On3.

Joining the Longhorns in the final cut down on Freeman’s list are Alabama, Iowa, Syracuse, and Georgia Tech. The crystal ball currently has Freeman projected to the Syracuse Orange, but with his decision just four days away (May 11th), fans will find out soon enough where the DC native will call home.
