Kansas C Ernest Udeh Enters Transfer Portal

Kansas forward Ernest Udeh Jr.

The Kansas Jayhawks lost a key piece of the 2023 season with sophomore center Ernest Udeh Jr. announcing his decision to enter the transfer portal.

Udeh didn’t turn heads from a statistical standpoint in the previous season, but did show flashes of major potential. With the Jayhawks bringing in one of the best players in the transfer portal in Hunter Dickinson, as well as multiple other high-profile players, Udeh made the decision to enter the portal ahead of the May 11th deadline.

Coming out of high school, Udeh was listed as a four-star prospect by On3 Industry Rankings and also became the third Jayhawk from the 2022 cycle to land in the top 50. Udeh joined MJ Rice and Gradey Dick in the top 50 sitting as the 33rd-ranked player in the nation, the sixth-ranked center, and the eighth-ranked player in the state of Florida.

Udeh should generate interest from multiple different teams around the country as he not only has a tremendous amount of upside, but he was also a well-liked player by the Kansas coaching staff, which is a rare occurrence to see a player that fits that description hit the transfer portal.
