Kansas, Oklahoma State Softball Game Postponed in Big 12 Tournament

While the weather was mostly avoidable on the first day of the 2023 Big 12 Softball Tournament, the third game of the day between the Kansas Jayhawks and the Oklahoma State Cowgirls has been postponed until Friday at 10 AM CT.

The game was postponed after the completion of the third inning, but with a tornado watch in the area, officials elected to stop the game and resume the following morning.

The Kansas Jayhawks will remain leading the Oklahoma State Cowgirls 3-1 when play resumes at the top of the fourth inning. For the Jayhawks, the hot bats will need to continue to keep a team like Oklahoma State from creeping back into the game. On the other side of things, the Cowgirls desperately need to find some offense as the Jayhawks have outmatched them at each facet of the game through this point.

The main difference through the first three innings has been the Jayhawks dominating the Cowgirls pitchers with runners on base. Kansas currently holds a team batting average of .429 with runners on base while Oklahoma State is 0-5.

The two teams will start back up tomorrow, Friday, May 12th, at 10 AM CST with an opportunity to take on the Texas Longhorns in the second round.
