West Virginia Lands Kentucky DL Transfer

NCAA Football: Oklahoma State at West Virginia

The West Virginia Mountaineers added to their roster with the commitment of Kentucky defensive line transfer Tomiwa Durojaiye.

The former Wildcat joins Neal Brown and the Mountaineers and adds some much-needed depth to the defensive line for a team that struggled to stop the run last season.

After red-shirting his freshman season at Kentucky, Durojaiye decided to enter the transfer portal and look for greener pastures elsewhere.

Coming out of high school. Drojaiye was listed as a three-star prospect by 247Sports Index as well as the 130th-ranked player in his position group. In the 2020 season at Middletown high school in Delaware, Durojaiye averaged five tackles and one sack per game as a high-volume player that now adds some juice to Jordan Lesley’s defense.

The Mountaineers kick their season off in Happy Valley, against Penn State on September 2nd, which is set to be nationally televised on NBC. Head coach Neal Brown is entering a must-win year and following the 2022 campaign where the Mountaineers finished 5-7 (3-6 CONF), a bowl-eligible season would be a major upgrade for the Blue and Gold.
