Auburn Transfer DE Dylan Brooks Commits to Kansas

NCAA Football: Texas at Kansas

The Kansas Jayhawks continue their impressive offseason in the transfer portal bringing in former Auburn defensive end, Dylan Brooks.

Brooks joins the Jayhawks after spending his freshman season with the Tigers, and while he didn’t see the field much in his first season of college football, Brooks has a tremendous upside for Lance Leipold and the Kansas Jayhawks.

Listed as 6-foot-4, 230-pounds, Brooks was graded as a four-star prospect by 247Sports. In the class of 2021, Brooks ranked as the eighth-best edge rusher in the nation, as well as the 6th-ranked player in the state of Alabama.

The Jayhawks have continued to perform well in the transfer portal this offseason as Brooks joins Leipold’s squad as the 50th-ranked class in college football. The Jayhawks have also paired their new portal additions with one of the best incoming freshman classes in program history as the Jayhawks currently rank 71st in the nation, 55 spots ahead of the previous year.

With a class full of returning seniors and experienced playmakers at multiple different positions, the Jayhawks have an opportunity to compete in the Big 12 Conference among the league’s best. If Kansas can build on last season’s successful campaign, it is only a matter of time until the Jayhawks find themselves within reach of a Big 12 title.
