Three-Star QB Mikey Pauley Commits to Kansas

NCAA Football: Kansas at Baylor

The Kansas Jayhawks are bringing a local quarterback prospect to Lawrence in three-star quarterback Mike Pauley.

Pauley started at quarterback for Blue Valley North High School in Overland Park Kansas last year, and after leading the Huskies to a state title in his senior season, he quickly became one of the top prospects in the state of Kansas.

Pauley is listed as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, as well as the 89th-ranked quarterback in the nation, and the 12th-best player in the state of Kansas. The Jayhawks are in the middle of one of the best offseasons in program history this year, after bringing in one of the top incoming freshman classes in recent memory.

Pauley joins the Jayhawks 2023 freshman class that currently ranks 71st in the nation, 55 spots ahead of the previous year. Bringing in Pauley to the quarterback room is massive for the future of Lance Leipold’s squad as starting quarterback Jalon Daniels is entering his final season of college eligibility.

The Jayhawks kick their season off on August 31st against Missouri State, before taking on BYU in Lawrence on September 23rd to start up Big 12 Conference play for the 2023 season.
