Oklahoma Softball Beats Missouri 11-0 in Norman Regional

The Oklahoma Sooners continue to roll through their NCAA Softball Regional in Norman after beating the Missouri Tigers 11-0 in their second game of the tournament.

The Sooners were fresh off a run-rule 11-0 win over Hofstra on Friday afternoon. Meantime, Missouri came into the game following a 5-1 win over Cal on Friday.

Oklahoma put two runs on the board in the first on a Cyndey Sanders two-run single. Then, OU broke this game open with a three-run third inning. The Sooners got an RBI double from Haley Lee and then a two-run home run Kinzie Hansen. Sanders tacked on a solo shot in the fifth as part of a two-run bottom half of the inning. Four more in the sixth and OU was able to close it out with a run-rule victory.

Jordy Bahl was in the circle for OU and went five innings, allowing only one hit with one walk and seven strikeouts to improve to 16-1 on the season.

The Sooners have now won 45 games in a row and are now 53-1 on the season, with their lone loss coming against the Baylor Bears back in February.

Oklahoma Softball will look to lock up their Regional win and advance to the Super Regionals if they win on Sunday where they will play whichever team advances out of Saturday without losing a second game in the double-elimination Tournament. Hofstra and Cal face off following the OU-Missouri game, and the winner will play Missouri on Saturday evening. The winner of that game will take on Oklahoma on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

If OU wins on Sunday, they advance, but if they lose, it will be a winner-take-all rematch on Sunday afternoon.
