Oklahoma Signee WR Keyon Brown Headed to JUCO

The Oklahoma Sooners received an unfortunate bit of information on Monday morning according to a report from Sooners Illustrated that three-star wide receiver prospect and Oklahoma signee, Keyon Brown is headed for JUCO at Garden City Community College for the 2023 season.
According to reports, Browns decision to attend GCCC is liked to an alleged academic eligibility keeping him from joining the Sooners in the 2023 season.
Brown found himself listed as a three-star prospect and the 347th-ranked player in the class of 2023 according to the 247Sports index. He was also listed as the 48th-ranked wide receiver in the nation, and the 63rd-ranked player in the state of Florida.
An explosive athlete from Tallahassee Florida, Brown helped lead James Rickards high school to the Florida 3A state playoffs, and in the regular season, Brown caught 26 passes for 588 yards and 6 scores across 10 games. He also ran track in high school and was one of the state’s best runners, anchoring his school’s 4×100 relay team that took 4th place at the Florida state 3A track meet.
With the news of academic issues keeping the three-star prospect from joining the Sooners in the fall, Oklahoma loses a key player at the wide receiver position leaving four-star prospect Jaquaize Pettaway as the lone receiver in OU’s 2023 class.
