Kevin McCullar to Return for Kansas Basketball in 2023-24

Kansas basketball received some good news on Wednesday as Kevin McCullar announced that he would be using his extra year of eligibility to come back for a second season at KU.
McCullar tested the waters of the NBA Draft and participated in the NBA Combine last week but it appears that he wasn’t quite comfortable with the feedback he received, so he’ll be back in a Jayhawks uniform in 2023-24.
The averaged 10.7 points, seven rebounds, and two steals per game in his first season with KU and started all but one game, averaging around 30 minutes per contest.
His return leaves Kansas with one scholarship to work with, but having a familiar face back on the roster is a good thing, especially since he makes just the third Kansas player returning this season.
As a standout defender with length and an ability to get to the rim offensively, McCullar provides a weapon on the wing for Kansas that they looked to be lacking heading into next season.
McCullar will be a sixth-year senior in 2023-24, meaning his eligibility will expire following this season.
With several key additions to the roster, most notably Hunter Dickinson, the Jayhawks look primed to make a run at yet another Big 12 title.
