Ernest Udeh Jr. Announces Transfer to TCU Basketball

Kansas forward Ernest Udeh Jr.

Ernest Udeh Jr. will play for the TCU Horned Frogs mens’ basketball team next season after transferring from Kansas and visiting Big 12 rival Kansas State.

Udeh told 247Sports.com about his transfer commitment. TCU has not formally announced his signing. He also announced his transfer on social media.

Udeh also visited Duke during his transfer visits.

He announced in May that he was transferring from Kansas after one season. He was a four-star prospect when he signed with the Jayhawks as part of the Class of 2022.

But, after the announced transfer of Hunter Dickinson, a 7-foot-1 center from Michigan, Udeh made the move to the portal.

Udeh averaged 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8.3 minutes per game.

He was part of an unlikely exodus of talent from last year’s Jayhawks team, talent that the Jayhawks were counting on to replace players like forward Jalen Wilson and guard Gradey Dick, both of which are headed to the NBA Draft.

The Jayhawks did get some good news when guard/forward Kevin McCullar announced his return to the team last week.

Meanwhile, TCU gets a player that can step into the shots of center Eddie Lampkin Jr., who transferred after last season to Colorado. At 6-foot-11 and 250 pounds, Udeh can provide the Horned Frogs an interior presence next season.

TCU has also added Oklahoma State guard Avery Anderson III, Coastal Carolina forward Essam Mostafa, Delaware guard Jameer Nelson Jr. and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi guard Trey Tennyson to the roster via transfer.
