Three-Star Defensive End DJ Allen Commits to UCF

The UCF Knights continue to attack the offseason with both incoming freshman and transfer portal players heading to Orlando, and on Monday afternoon, three-star DE DJ Allen became the next name to join the party.

Allen is an interesting prospect from Germantown, Tennessee that compiled more offers than anyone I’ve ever written about. Allen received offers from a total of 32 different schools including Iowa, Indiana, Memphis, Missouri, Purdue, Texas A&M, and more, but with multiple teams interested in him, the Tennessee native decided to commit to UCF.

Allen is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index as well as the nation’s 1386th overall prospect in the class of 2024. He also checks in as the 91st-ranked edge rusher in his class and the 49th-ranked recruit in the state of Tennessee.

With his commitment to UCF, Allen becomes the second addition of the day to head coach Gus Malzahn’s squad, joining three-star FIU transfer pass rusher, Shaun Peterson who announced his decision to head to Orlando just an hour before Allen.

While Allen could potentially team up with Peterson at UCF, the young pass rusher won’t step foot on campus until the 2024 season, while Peterson will be taking the field in the fall. The Knights continued their hot streak of commitments this offseason, and with DJ Allen set to become a knight, the bunch is set to take another big step forward.
