The Oklahoma State Cowboys just added a top talent in the class of 2024 with the commitment of three-star safety David Kabongo.

Kabongo is a talented defensive back from Trophy Club, Texas who received offers from 13 different schools, four of which are members of the Big 12 including Texas, Texas Tech, Kansas, and Oklahoma State.

Kabongo is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently ranks as the 720th-overall prospect in the class of 2024. He also checks in as the 73-ranked safety in the nation, and the 115th-ranked player in the state of Texas.

As a sophomore in 2021, Kabongo recorded 88 tackles, five interceptions, and one forced fumble at Byron Nelson High School, and while he was recruited as a safety, Kabongo also played on the opposite side of the ball with 23 touches on offense, good for 143 yards and two scores. The dynamic athlete also ran track for his high school running a 24.23-second 200-meter dash and long jumped 20-3 as a sophomore in the spring of 2022.

He now joins Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys with the hopes of finding their way back to a Big 12 title game, and leading the defense when he steps on campus in 2024.
