All SEC Teams to Face Either Oklahoma or Texas in 2024: Report

NCAA Football: Texas at Oklahoma

Oklahoma and Texas fans won’t have to wait much longer to find out who they will play as members of the SEC in 2024, as the conference will drop each of their opponents tonight at 6:00 p.m. CT.

As was announced recently, the SEC will maintain its eight-game conference schedule, although it will be dropping the divisions that have kept schools like Alabama and Georgia from playing one another for several years.

According to ESPN’s Peter Burns, each SEC team will face either the Sooners or Longhorns once in the upcoming 2024 season. Whether the games will be played at home or away will be revealed tonight.

Some information surrounding each team’s schedule is starting to leak out in places, with Texas’ schedule having several games already leaked, according to 247Sports’ Chip Brown.

According to Brown, the Longhorns will face Arkansas and Texas A&M on the road, play Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl, and host two-time defending national champion Georgia at home in 2024.

On the other side of the coin, Oklahoma is rumored to have Alabama on the schedule in 2024, as well as old Big 12 rival Missouri, and of course, Texas in the Cotton Bowl.

The Sooners and Longhorns aren’t just dipping their toes into the water in Year 1 it seems, but with them being the new kids on the block, that shouldn’t be all that surprising.

Either way, the schedules are about to get much tougher for the Red River rivals, and they’d better have things ready to go come 2024.
