Texas Lands Commitment from 2024 Four-Star WR Freddie Dubose

Texas Longhorns flag horns up, limes in

The Texas Longhorns have earned the commitment from 2024 four-star wide receiver Freddie Dubose, marking their fifth commitment of the class and their second-highest-rated commit to this point in the cycle.

Dubose, listed at 6-1, 170 pounds, is ranked as the No. 28 player at his position and No. 36 overall player in the state of Texas for 2024. From Spring Branch (TX), Dubose also ranks as the No. 189 prospect in the country, making him one of the most coveted wideouts out of the Lone Star State.

With an offer list that includes programs like Texas A&M, Tennessee, Oregon, and Penn State, Texas ought to feel very good about securing Dubose at this point in the cycle.

With a future quarterback room that has players like Arch Manning and Maalik Murphy, Dubose says that trust in the quarterback position was a big part of his choice.

“I know I’m going to have somebody that can put it in my hands,” said Dubose. “I know that I can have somebody that I can trust with the ball at the quarterback position.”

While Texas has been slow to start the 2024 recruiting cycle, Dubose’s commitment could start the fire for the Longhorns to have a big summer. As things stand right now, Texas’ 2024 class ranks last in the Big 12 and 56th overall, but that will change drastically over the coming months.
