West Virginia Guard Kerr Kriisa Re-Enters the Transfer Portal

The West Virginia Mountaineers roster purge officially has its second member in the transfer portal as former Arizona transfer Kerr Kriisa announced his decision to re-enter the transfer portal.

Kriisa was a key member of the Mountaineers’ top class of incoming transfer portal players, but after senior forward Tre Mitchell announced his decision to enter the portal on Thursday night, Kerr Kriisa is following closely behind.

In the midst of a search for a new head coach following the resignation of longtime HC Bob Huggins, West Virginia fans, alumni, boosters, and more have tried to do everything in their power to ensure some of the incoming members of the basketball team stay in Morgantown, but as the coaching search continues on, the inevitable departures have started.

Kriisa averaged 9.9 points, 5.1 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game last season at Arizona while shooting 37.2% from the field. The veteran guard hits the portal after head coach Bob Huggins announced his resignation following his arrest in Pittsburg for driving under the influence of alcohol last week.

With two members of the 2023-2024 class returning to the transfer portal, Mountaineer fans everywhere are holding out hope that the decision doesn’t continue to make waves and give the West Virginia faithful more turmoil to deal with.
