Dak Prescott on Deuce Vaughn: ‘He Can Help Immediately’

It’s unusual for a late-round NFL Draft pick to get huge praise, but that’s exactly what’s happening in Dallas as Cowboys rookie running back Deuce Vaughn has been getting lots of love from just about everyone, including maybe the most important person possible.

Vaughn was selected by the Cowboys with the No. 212 pick (6th round) in the 2023 NFL Draft, and after showing what he can do in rookie minicamp and team OTA’s, the latest person to compliment Vaughn is none other than Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

In a recent interview with KTCK-AM in Dallas, Dak Prescott raved about the rookie running back saying, “I think he’s going to be a very talented player that can help us immediately.”

Prescott continued by saying, “Excited. That was one right there that you do get excited about when you see that story. Understanding going into it, knowing who he was, knowing his Dad. Thinking how cool that would be if you could make that happen, so I did pay attention enough that he was there in the fifth round or something like that like ‘How is he still there?’ Then seeing that and seeing that reaction, just knowing how great of a guy Chris is, his father, I’m excited about Deuce being in there.”

While Vaugh is just starting his NFL career, Big 12 fans everywhere are very familiar with the Texas native as he was a two-time consensus All-American at Kansas State who ran for 3,604 yards and 34 scores, while adding 116 catches for 1,280 receiving yards and nine touchdowns through the air. Vaughn and the Cowboys kick their season off on August 12th in the first preseason game of the year against the Jacksonville Jaguars where Vaughn should get his chance to rush behind one of the best offensive lines in football.
