Oklahoma received some good news on Tuesday night as three-star running back Xavier Robinson announced his commitment to the Sooners 2024 class.

Listed at 6-2, 220 pounds, Robinson is one of the top players in the state of Oklahoma coming out of Carl Albert High School in Oklahoma City.

The No. 6 player in the state and No. 53 RB in the 2024 class held offers from several Division-I programs, but chose Oklahoma over Iowa State, as well as offers from Oklahoma State, K-State, and Notre Dame, among others.

Xavier Robinson is the first running back that Oklahoma has taken for 2024, but they likely aren’t done at the position. The Sooners are also viewed as leaders to pick up a pair of four-star running backs in Caden Durham and Taylor Tatum, which would give OU one of the best running back classes in the country.

Robinson’s commitment gives Oklahoma nine pledges for the class of 2024, bringing them up to No. 18 nationally and first in the Big 12, according to On3.

With July looming, it appears that Brent Venables and the Sooners might be preparing to take off on the trail and make their run at another Top 10 recruiting class as they prepare for the move to the SEC.
