Watch: Xavier Worthy Reacts to Latrell McCutchin Transferring to Houston

NCAA Football: Kansas at Texas

Houston picked up a big commitment from the transfer portal on Tuesday as former Oklahoma and USC defensive back Latrell McCutchin announced that he would play for Dana Holgorsen and the Cougars this upcoming season.

However, it appears that the Cougars aren’t the only ones excited about McCutchin’s return to the Big 12.

Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy caught wind of the news on Tuesday as well, and he certainly looks excited about the opportunity to face McCutchin again.

Worthy’s reaction is priceless, but it’s also warranted, based on the last time he faced McCutchin.

Against Oklahoma in 2021, Worthy posted a career-high 261 yards on nine receptions, two of which went for touchdowns.

In fact, the very first play of that game was a screen play to Worthy, which he proceeded to take 75 yards for a score. While that play wasn’t against McCutchin, Worthy certainly burned the former Sooner plenty in the second half, including on a 31-yard score with just over a minute left in the game.

The Sooners’ secondary had no answer for Worthy on that day, but the heroics of now-Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams ensured that the OU went home victorious in a 55-48 thriller.

Now, Worthy will get another chance at McCutchin, with the Longhorns heading to Houston on October 21.
