Texas Tech Football 2024 Recruiting Class Cracks Top 20 With Latest Commitment

NCAA Football: Houston at Texas Tech

Joey McGuire and the Texas Tech Red Raiders are on a roll on the recruiting trail after landing another solid prospect on Sunday to add to the 2024 recruiting class.

Oliver Miles, a three-star safety, according to 247Sports, out of El Campo, Texas, announced he was going to Lubbock over offers from Notre Dame, Nebraska, Houston and others.

247Sports has him ranked as a Top 50 safety in the country and a Top 80 player in the state of Texas. Earlier in the day, Texas Tech got a commitment from four-star safety Peyton Morgan. Morgan is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently ranks as the nation’s 310th-overall prospect. He also checks in as the 30th-ranked safety in the class of 2024 and the 52nd-ranked player in the state of Texas.

With these two additions, Texas Tech’s 2024 class is now ranked No. 20 in the nation, according to the 247Sports team rankings. That ranks ahead of any current or future Big 12 team, including Oklahoma and Texas. Tech is currently sandwiched between Ole Miss and Alabama.

While there is still plenty of time to go, Tech has piled up 16 high-quality commitments as Joey McGuire continues to try and build Tech into a year-in, year-out Big 12 contender.
