Three-Star DE Deshawn Warner Commits to Kansas

NCAA Football: Texas at Kansas

The Kansas Jayhawks just added a new name in the class of 2024 incoming freshmen with the commitment of three-star defensive end Deshawn Warner.

Warner chose to join the Jayhawks after receiving offers from 17 different schools including the likes of Texas, Iowa State, Nebraska, Arizona, and more.

Warner is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently ranks as the nation’s 673rd-ranked prospect. He also checks in as the 46th-ranked defensive end in the class of 2024 as well as the 14th-ranked player in the state of Arizona.

Kansas head football coach Lance Leipold has been on an absolute heater on the recruiting front this offseason as Warner becomes the 14th commitment for the Jayhawks in the 2024 cycle. He joins four-star players like CB Austin Alexander and S Damani Mason, as well as a cast of 11 three-stars including CB Jalen Todd, RB Harry Stewart, and QB Isiah Marshall.

Kansas has struggled in the football field over the last decade, but after numerous head coaches changes and some new hires in the front office, Lance Leipold has his squad back on track. The Kansas Jayhawks kick off their 2023 season on September 2nd against Missouri State where Warner and the rest of the 2024 class can get their first look at their future team under Lance Leipold.
