The Kansas Jayhawks landed their third four-star prospect in the class of 2024 with the commitment of four-star defensive end Dakyus Brinkley, solidifying Lance Leipold as one of the best recruiters in the Big 12.

Brinkley joins the Jayhawks after receiving offers from 18 different schools including nine teams from the Big 12 Conference with Kansas, Baylor, Houston, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, and Texas Tech.

Brinkley is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently ranks as the nation’s 259th-ranked prospect. He also checks in as the 21st-ranked pass rusher in the class of 2024 as well as the 47th-ranked player in the state of Texas.

He becomes Kansas’ third four-star prospect in the class of 2024 joining cornerback Austin Alexander and safety Damani Maxson at the top of the Jayhawks recruiting class. The trio is also joined by a cast of 11 three-stars including cornerback Jalen Todd, running back Harry Stewart, edge rusher Deshawn Warner, and more.

Dakyus Brinkley and the rest of the class of 2024 will have an opportunity to watch their new team play on September 1st when Lance Leipold and the Jayhawks kick their season off against Missouri State.
