The UCF Knights continued their hot streak in recruiting with the commitment of 2024 three-star OL Chase Malamala.
Malamala took an official visit to both UCF and Florida Atlantic before committing but was pursued by a total of nine different schools including programs like Florida State, Auburn, and Toledo.
Malamala is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently ranks as the nation’s 1611th-overall prospect. He also checks in as the 122nd-ranked offensive tackle in the class of 2024 and the 232rd-ranked player in the state of Florida.
The young offensive lineman comes from a family of athletes at the position as his father, Siupeli Malamala was selected by the New York Jets in the third round of the 1992 NFL Draft. Malamala spent time with the Jets and the Oakland Raiders in his career logging 62 games played from 1992-1999.
Chase Malamala becomes the Knights’ 13th commitment in the class of 2024 joining a cast of five four-star prospects including Kylan Fox, Waltclaire Flynn, Stacy Gage, Jakob Gude, Qua Birdsong, and seven three-star prospects all set to join Gus Malzahn in Orlando.
The UCF Knights kick their season off on August 31st against Kent State before taking on the defending champion Kansas State Wildcats in Manhattan to kick off their first season of Big 12 play.
