Keyonte George, Jalen Wilson Make NBA’s All-Summer League Teams
The Big 12 Conference’s former members had their skills on full display in the NBA’s Summer League with big performances from multiple key performers.
Markquis Nowell, Keyontae Johnson, Gradey Dick, and Erik Stevenson all had big nights in Summer League, however, one former Jayhawk and one former Bear stood out above the rest of the pack earning All-Summer League honors this summer.
The duo of Baylor guard Keyonte George and Kansas forward Jalen Wilson earned their spot amongst the best players in the league this season with George earning first-team honors and Wilson earning a spot on the second-team.
Keyonte George finished off his summer league experience leading the league in points per game with 21.7 points per contest. The young backcourt member was joined on the first team All-Summer League Team by Cleveland’s Sam Merrill, Miami’s Orlando Robinson, Denver’s Hunter Tyson, and league MVP, Houston’s Cam Whitmore.
Jalen Wilson finished off his summer league run as one of the best players on the court in the front court for the Brooklyn Nets. Wilson had a unique partnership with Wilson basketball running through the duration of summer league where the duo agreed to pledge $100 per point scored and $50 per assist recorded to local YMCAs in Brooklyn. At the conclusion of the fifth and final game, local YMCAs profited over 9,000 dollars thanks to his performance averaging 17.6 PPG.
The duo now has a bigger task ahead as they look to work their way onto the court for their respective teams when the NBA regular season starts up in October.
