The TCU Horned Frogs took a step forward heading into the fall season with the commitment of 2024 three-star defensive tackle Sterlin Brooks.

Brooks chose to team up with Sonny Dykes the Horned Frogs after receiving offers from seven different schools including four Big 12 programs with TCU, Baylor, Houston, and Kansas all sending offers his way.

Brooks is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently ranks as the 153rd-overall defensive lineman in the class of 2024. He also checks in as the 225th-ranked player in the state of Texas which produces some of the best prospects on DL nationwide.

Despite Brooks’ commitment, the prospect from Texas told HornedFrogBlitz that he still intends to tour other campuses during the fall football season.

“I’m going to continue taking visits during the season,” Brooks said. “I might be visiting LSU, Memphis, and OU during the season.”

Brooks is a local of Fort Worth TX, growing up just 20 minutes away from TCU’s campus which he reflected on saying, “It’s my hometown. Nothing feels better than home.”

TCU kicks off its 2023 season in hopes of finding some magic reminiscent of Sonny Dykes first year where the Horned Frogs found their way to the National Championship game. Football officially starts for them on September 2nd when Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffs head to Ft. Worth.
