The South Carolina Gamecocks football team is trending for a viral prank involving the coaching staff prank-calling their players on an off day.
South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer and six of his assistant coaches sat down to call some of the top players for the Gamecocks giving each member of the team a bit of a scare thinking that they did something wrong.
South Carolina football players including defensive lineman Zacch Pickens, running back Kevin Harris, defensive end Kingsley Enagbare, wide receiver Jalen Brooks, defensive back Cam Smith, wide receiver Dakeroen Joyner, linebacker Debo Williams, quarterback Luke Doty, and tight end Nick Muse all answered their phones in an unsuspecting manner but got a good laugh out of seeing their college coaching staff posted up on camera.
The majority of players that head coach Beamer called have moved onto the NFL after being selected in the 2022 and 2023 NFL Draft or signed UDFA contracts shortly after with a professional team. While the offseason is a great time for prank calls, the Gamecocks are headed into the 2023 season with a lot of hype surrounding the program with former Oklahoma Sooners QB Spencer Rattler under center.
