Former Iowa State DE Enyi Uwazurike Suspended Indefinitely for Violating NFL’s Gambling Policy
Former Iowa State Cyclone Enyi Uwazurike has been suspended indefinitely for violating the NFL’s gambling policy, according ESPN’s Field Yates.
Uwazurike has spent two seasons in NFL, and racked up nine tackles last season with the Denver Broncos.
The defensive lineman spent five seasons with the Cyclones before being drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He will be eligible for reinstatement no earlier than July 24, 2023.
He finished his career at Iowa State with 144 tackles, 34.5 TFL, 15.0 sacks, two fumble recoveries, 15 QB hurries and two blocked field goals. Uwazurike ranks third in TFL (34.5) and sixth in sacks (15.0) on ISU’s career record lists.
No other information has been released about the details of Uwazurike’s violation.
