Brock Purdy Fully Cleared With No Restrictions
Former Iowa State quarterback turned star of the San Fransico 49ers, Brock Purdy, has officially been cleared to play after extensive elbow surgery in the offseason.
Purdy suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow against the Philadelphia Eagles back on January 29th, and with surgery to repair the ligament being a relatively extensive process, the 49ers were unsure if Purdy would be able to take snaps under center when the season started, but after a positive update for Purdy, the former Cyclone is back in action.
This offseason has been a big one for Brock Purdy as he recently got engaged to his longtime girlfriend amidst rehabbing his injury. With the positive update on the stats of Brock Purdy in the books, San Francisco will have to evaluate the quarterback position up close as the three quarterbacks on the roster, now include a pair of former No. 3 overall picks in Sam Darnold and Trey Lance.
Brock Purdy exploded onto the NFL scene in his rookie season and has earned enough of a reputation at the professional level to become a starting quarterback when healthy. Purdy’s injury wasn’t an easy recovery process as it required invasive surgery, months of physical therapy, and a strong willpower to get back into playing shape.
With Purdy reportedly experiencing a full recovery this offseason, he heads into the 2022 season as the starter in a complicated Kyle Shanahan offense that flourished with Purdy at the helm.
