Arch Manning’s First Trading Card Sells for Record Number on Panini Website
Arch Manning is already one of the most recognizable names in all of college football, and he hasn’t even stepped on the field for the Texas Longhorns.
That’s just the way it is though, with a last name that carries such incredible football prowess. Arch Manning has a trio of NFL legacies to live up to, with his grandfather Archie, and uncles, Peyton and Eli, building the strongest family brand that the National Football League has ever seen.
Before going to the NFL though, the Manning’s have all spent time playing quarterback in the SEC, with Arch the next in line to do so.
Unlike his predecessors though, Arch can legally profit off his last name, and that much he is already doing. Last week, Arch announced an NIL partnership with Panini, the world-famous trading card company.
Despite not playing a down of college football yet, Arch launched trading cards with Panini, and his first trading card sold at auction on Sunday and broke records doing so.
Manning’s one-of-one Prizm Black autographed card was auctioned off for charity for a total of $102,500, making it the highest-selling card in Panini’s website history, beating out Luke Doncic’s national treasure card, which sold for an even $100,000.
According to ESPN, all of the proceeds will go to a Central Texas nonprofit with the help of St. David’s HealthCare and St. David’s Foundation. The winner of the card, who is unnamed, will also participate in a meet-and-greet with the famed legacy quarterback, including catching passes from Manning and taking part in a check presentation for the proceeds.
While he hasn’t been around long, Arch is already making headlines at UT and that’s not likely to change any time soon.
