Oregon Coach Dan Lanning Blasts Colorado for Leaving for Big 12

While Big 12 fans have been celebrating the reunion of the Colorado Buffaloes returning to the Big 12, members of the Pac-12 have been doing quite the opposite.

Oregon head football coach Dan Lanning spoke on the recent departure of the Buffaloes at Oregon’s media day saying, “Not a big reaction. I’m trying to remember what they won to affect this conference.”

This report comes from Oregon beat reporter James Crepea who happens to be the same reporter that asked Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff what the point of not debuting a new TV deal at Pac-12 media days was back on July 21st.

While the relationship between Oregon and Colorado could continue to heat up with rumors of the Ducks following suit and heading to the Big 12, the two teams kick off their first game of Pac-12 play against one another on September 23rd which should be a highly anticipated matchup now that Lanning decided to give Deion Sanders’ squad some extra bulletin board material.

Lanning and the Ducks are currently in the midst of realignment rumors involving seemingly every conference in the country with the exception of the SEC. The Oregon Ducks are one of the remaining nine teams in the Pac-12 Conference holding out hope that George Kliavkoff can mystically agree to a media rights deal despite losing one of the league’s premier teams. I think it’s safe to say that the Bachelor’s Chris Harrison put it best when discussing conference realignment by saying, “This is going to be the most dramatic season yet!”
