TCU Horned Frogs fans got an official look at the team’s official non-conference schedule for the upcoming basketball season as the team broke the news on Monday morning.
The Horned Frogs take on a relatively easy schedule in the non-con including the likes of Texas Wesleyan, Southern, Omaha, UTRGV, Mississippi Valley State, Alcorn State, Georgetown, Clemson, Arizona State, and Texas A&M Commerce.
The Horned Frogs finished off the previous season as one of the most unpredictable teams in the Big 12 Conference with a relatively unknown ceiling each time the team took the court. A good example of the difference in play can be seen with January 21st matchup against the Kansas Jayhawks where TCU went into Allen Fieldhouse and sent the Jayhawks packing with an 83-60 blowout loss. On the other side of the coin, the team found losses like March 4th’s loss to Oklahoma in blowout fashion 60-74.
Entering a new season under Jamie Dixon with a relatively new roster following key departures from Mike Miles Jr., Eddie Lampkin, and Damion Baugh, coupled with additions like Ernest Udeh Jr., Essam Mostafa, Avery Anderson III, and Jameer Nelson Jr., the Horned Frogs take the court with some new faces at multiple positions.
The Horned Frogs’ first game tips off on October 30th against Texas Wesleyan which should provide a much-needed dose of basketball following the excitement from 2022-23.
