2024 Four-Star PG Labaron Philon Lists Kansas and Cincinnati in Top Four

The Kansas Jayhawks have been known to secure top talents in each class of incoming freshmen, and while the Jayhawks were featured on 2024 four-star Labaron Philon’s final cutdown list, they were joined by another Big 12 team looking to make a splash in 2024.
The Cincinnati Bearcats earned a place in Philon’s top four joining the likes of Kansas, Alabama, and Ole Miss. Philon originally committed to Auburn on February 3rd, but after receiving interest from some key programs, the young guard elected to reopen his commitment.
Philon is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and is currently listed as the nation’s 31st-ranked prospect. He also checks in as the third-ranked point guard in his class behind Zoom Diallo and Tahaad Pettiford, as well as the second-ranked player in the state of Missouri behind Baylor target Tre Johnson.
247Sports analyst selected the Missouri native as a player deserving of more hype in the class of 2024 saying, “Philon is a tough, two-way point guard who is a very impressive on-ball defender with his quickness and active hands. Offensively, Philon can get downhill and score the ball but has also really improved as a decision-maker. Overall, he’s a tough-minded lead guard who thrives on the open floor.”
While a decision date has yet to be announced for the top prospect, in the event that Kansas or Cincinnati can get a commitment from Philon, the league will add even more depth with another top guard prospect in the conference.
