Texas Tech Basketball Announces 2023-24 Non-Conference Schedule

The Texas Tech Red Raiders became the latest basketball team in the Big 12 Conference to announce its 2023-24 non-conference schedule on Tuesday afternoon, ending their streak as one of the last teams in the league to make the announcement.
The Red Raiders take on a total of 13 teams in their official non-conference schedule including an opening day matchup against Texas A&M Commerce on November 8th to kick off the 2023-24 season.
While Tech’s non-con schedule doesn’t appear to be too tough at face value, Grant McCasland and company’s toughest matchup of the season looks to be a date with the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles on December 12th after finding their way to the NCAA Tournament in 2022 with an overall record of 30-5.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders finished off the previous season in ninth place in the Big 12 Conference with an overall record of 16-16. Following a coaching change to bring in former North Texas head coach Grant McCasland, the Red Raiders have a new found sense of optimism that hasn’t been there since the 2019 season.
The Red Raiders first game tips off on November 8th against Texas A&M Commerce which should provide a much-needed dose of basketball following the excitement from 2022-23.
