Four-Star DE Nigel Smith Commits to Oklahoma Sooners
The Oklahoma Sooners have added another impressive piece for their defensive line with four-star prospect Nigel Smith joining a loaded 2024 class. The commitment takes Oklahoma to No. 8 on the 247Sports team rankings.
Smith was long considered to be heading to the Sooners and he made it official during his Senior Night festivities.
Smith is the 22nd scholarship commit of the cycle for Oklahoma and joins five-star DT David Stone, four-star DT Jayden Jackson and three-star DE Wyatt Gilmore along a defensive line getting more hype by the commitment.
The Melissa, Texas native is 6’5”, 260 pounds and is the No. 83 prospect and No. 12 defensive lineman, according to the 247Sports rankings.
The Sooners are off to a 1-0 start in the 2023 season, as they look to bounce back from a 6-7 2022 campaign, and play host to SMU on Saturday in Norman. Oklahoma vs. SMU will kick off at 5:00 p.m. CST.
