Texas Surges in Week 3 AP Top 25 Poll

Following another exciting weekend of college football for the Big 12 Conference, two teams remained in a similar spot as the previous week’s rankings while the Texas Longhorns skyrocketed heading into Week 3.

Kansas State remained in the No. 15 spot after blowing out Troy 42-13 handing the Trojans their first loss in 13 games. The team is set to take on the 2-0 Missouri Tigers and is currently favored by 4.5 points. Oklahoma followed suit by taking down SMU 28-11 on Saturday which actually brought the Sooners down from the No. 18 spot to the No. 19 spot heading into a Week 3 matchup against Tulsa.

The Texas Longhorns were the league’s biggest riser following one of the biggest wins during Steve Sarkisian’s time at Texas, taking down his former boss Nick Saban, 34-24 with an impressive performance from Quinn Ewers. The Longhorns jumped seven spots to No. 4 in this week’s Top 25 as the team gets prepared to take on Wyoming in Week 3.

TCU (19), Kansas (19), Cincinnati (3), and UCF (1) all received votes in this week’s poll.
