Oklahoma Fans Upset with Jeff Lebby’s Play Calling vs. Cincinnati

While it was only the end of the first half for OU’s Big 12 football opener, that was enough time for some Sooners fans to call it quits on offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby.
Lebby and the Sooners entered Saturday’s matchup against the Cincinnati Bearcats after scoring a whopping 167 points in the first three games of the non-conference schedule. While Cincinnati’s defense had a solid first half against the Sooners, 10 points to show for it gave some Oklahoma fans all the gasoline they needed to come after Jeff Lebby.
Here are some of the best reactions from social media to Lebby’s playcalling.
While Jeff Lebby was the most criticized member of the Sooners on Saturday afternoon, the lack of offensive efficiency resulted in some fans throwing shots at senior quarterback Dillon Gabriel. Despite recording nearly 300 yards passing in the first three quarters of action, Gabriel was under fire from a loud minority of Sooners fans for turnover issues and some key missed throws.
Oklahoma would go on to beat Cincinnati 20-6 and improve to 4-0 on the season. But for some on social media, it’s obviously never enough.
