Kansas Checks in on Week 5 AP Top 25 Poll

Following an impressive slate of football games in the Big 12 Conference during Week 5 of the college football season, two teams from the previous week remained in the AP Top 25 with one team earning their first appearance on the list this season.
The Kansas Jayhawks entered the week on the outside looking in after starting 3-0 for the second-straight season under head coach Lance Leipold, and while Kansas hasn’t been known in the past for having a super-talented football team, the tides are starting to change in Lawrence under Leipold.
The Texas Longhorns stayed in the same spot as the previous week at No. 3 on the list while the Oklahoma Sooners rose two spots on Sunday afternoon climbing from the No. 16 spot to the No. 14.
Kansas State (57), and TCU (17) both received votes in this week’s poll.
