Patrick Mahomes Praises Zach Wilson: ‘I’ve Watched Him Since His BYU Days’
While former BYU Cougar Zach Wilson has caught some flack for a rocky start since taking over as the New York Jets starting quarterback, one former Big 12 signal caller took the time to praise Zach Wilson on Sunday Night Football.
It is no secret that former Texas Tech Red Raider Patrick Mahomes has been vocal in showing love to the Big 12 Conference, Mahomes took the time to compliment Zach Wilson on Sunday night saying, “I’ve watched him since his BYU days.”
Wilson and the Jets entered Sunday’s matchup as 9.5-point underdogs to Mahomes and the Chiefs, but after an impressive performance from Zach Wilson, the Jets had a chance to win late. Kansas City eventually went on to win 23-20 due to some Mahomes magic, but with Wilson and Mahomes duking it out on national television, the age of the Big 12 quarterback seems to be stronger than ever.
While the SEC and the Big 10 seem to get the majority of praise for developing top athletes in the NFL Draft, quarterbacks like Zach Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Brock Purdy, and many more are continuing to improve the overall stock of the Big 12 Conference.
