Jalon Daniels Doubtful to Play vs. Oklahoma State

The Kansas Jayhawks will likely be without their star quarterback Jalon Daniels for the third straight week after being listed as doubtful for Saturday’s contest. Daniels will miss out on a matchup in Stillwater against Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Daniels missed the previous two weeks against Texas and UCF, where his team managed to navigate a 1-1 record with a 40-14 loss against Texas, and a 51-22 win over UCF.
Daniels missed the first game of the season due to a lingering back injury, but he returned to the field for three games in a row before aggravating the back last week.
Veteran backup Jason Bean saw action in the Jayhawks home opener against Missouri State leading Kansas to a 48-17 win over the Bears. Bean finished his day with 22 completions for 276 yards and two scores while adding six carries for 39 yards on the ground.
The Jayhawks turn to Jason Bean for the fourth time this season, who boasts a 2-1 record as the starter in Lawrence this season. The Texas native enters Saturday’s matchup with 39 completions for 503 yards and a touchdown to interception ratio of 4-0. Freshman Cole Ballard will be Bean’s backup on Saturday pending any updates to Jalon Daniels.
Bean and the Jayhawks take the field as 3.5-point favorites against the Cowboys in Stillwater in hopes of remaining in the AP Top 25 for the second straight week with an opportunity to advance to 6-1.
