Jerome Tang Called ‘Jerome Tong’ at Big 12 Basketball Media Days

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament East Regional Practice

Despite Kansas State Men’s Basketball coach Jerome Tang’s name being a pretty straightforward name to spell, the second-year head coach continues to adopt alter egos due to incorrect graphics.

Tang took the stage at Big 12 Basketball Media Days and earned the new moniker of “Jerome Tong,” which became the third instance of spelling errors directed at Kansas State’s head coach on Wednesday.

The name Jerome Tong now joins the likes of Jerome Yang and Jerry Yang which both took on lives and personalities of their own in the minds of fans.

Jerome Tang was the first coach of the day to take the stage at Big 12 Basketball Media Days in Kansas City and spoke on the successes of his first year with the program, new additions, what to expect in Year Two, and more. Tang led the Wildcats to a 26-10 record in his first year with the program and earned a No. 3 seed in the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

Tang and the Wildcats take on Bronny James and the USC Trojans on November 6th in Las Vegas to kick off the 2023-24 season.
