2024 Four-Star PF David Punch Commits to TCU

TCU head coach Jamie Dixon.

Jamie Dixon and the TCU Horned Frogs added a massive name to the class of 2024 with the commitment of four-star power forward David Punch.

Punch elected to join the Horned Frogs after receiving offers from 19 different programs including Penn State, NC State, Xavier, Oral Roberts, New Mexico, Virginia, and more.

Punch is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently checks in as the nation’s 107th-ranked prospect. He is also listed as the 23rd-ranked power forward in his class and the fifth-ranked player in the state of Texas.

Recruiting analyst Brandon Jenkins spoke about punch saying, “Punch fits the mold of a true four-man in today’s game. He works hard on both ends of the floor and is a skilled play-finisher who goes about his business with a composed demeanor. He scores with a soft touch inside the lane and is comfortable knocking down trail threes from behind the arc. His best asset is his willingness to play hard. Punch gets most of his points attacking the offensive glass and finishing through traffic inside. He gets off the floor well in a crowded lane, is a good rebounder in his area, and his motor is quite good. His physicality and soft hands come into play while snatching rebounds. He is one of those prospects who does not try to do anything out of his comfort zone and the strengths he brings to the table effortlessly translates.”

Dixon and the Horned Frogs recruiting class now upgrades to the nation’s 11th-overall class with Punch joining a trio of three-stars in Micah Robinson, Malick Diallo, and Ashton Simmons. TCU tips off their season on November 6th against Southern U.
