Cincinnati Flips Three-Star DT Lendric Barber from Coastal Carolina

Scott Satterfield and the Cincinnati Bearcats added a new name to the class of 2024 with the commitment of three-star defensive tackle Lendric Barber.
Barber committed to join Coastal Carolina on July 4th, but after receiving an offer from the Bearcats on September 19th, Barber weighed his options and decided to lip his commitment and join Cincinnati.
Barber is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently checks in as the nation’s 1762nd-ranked prospect. He is also listed as the 168th-ranked defensive lineman in his class as well as the 175th-overall player in the state of Georgia.
Barber explored the possibility of flipping his commitment after his first visit to Cincinnati telling Bearcat Journal’s Keegan Knickoson that he thought about making the switch, “When I first went to visit. It was a great city and a great coaching staff.”
The Georgia native continued by saying, “I’ve gotten to know Walt Stewart (UC LB Coach) a lot, and we’ve been talking a lot recently. He tells me I’ll be a great fit there and I feel like he will be a great coach for me.”
Lendric Barber will have an opportunity to watch his future team take the field in Week 9 when the Cincinnati Bearcats head to Stillwater to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys on October 28th at 7:00 PM CT.
