K-State in Final Three for 2024 Five-Star C Patrick Ngongba

Jerome Tang and Kansas State have made the final cut for one of the best basketball players in the 2024 class, five-star center, Patrick Ngongba.
Ngongba, a 6-foot-10, 235-pound senior out of Fairfax (VA) Paul VI, tells On3 that he will announce his decision on November 4 and will be choosing between Duke, Kentucky, and Kansas State. Ngongba has visited Duke twice, Kentucky once, and will be in Manhattan for the second time this upcoming weekend.
UConn, Indiana, Providence, Kansas, and Michigan were previously in consideration for the No. 19 overall player in the country (per ESPN), but will no longer consider those schools after cutting his options down to three teams.
In a recent interview, Ngongba said exactly what it was that he was looking for in a college program.
“For one, I want to go to a school that can develop me. I want to get to the next level, so a program and a coach that can get me there. Also, I want to go somewhere that has a family environment. A place I can bond with the players, play video games and hang out.
“How the coaches play, how they look to use me in the system will definitely be a factor and something I look at, but it won’t be the biggest thing for me.”
That sounds like something Tang and company can provide in Manhattan, and if things go well this weekend, they could have a major piece to build around in their 2024 class.
