Texas Tech Lands 2025 Four-Star QB Lloyd Jones

NCAA Football: Montana State at Texas Tech

Joey McGuire and the Texas Tech Red Raiders added a new name in the Class of 2025 with the commitment of four-star quarterback Lloyd Jones.

Jones is a bit of an early commit as the Texas native chose to join the Red Raiders after receiving offers from UTSA, Texas State, North Texas, and Colorado State.

Jones is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and currently checks in as the nation’s 213th-ranked recruit. He also checks in as the 22nd-ranked quarterback in his class and the 33rd-ranked player in the state of Texas.

Llyod Jones is an impressive athlete who has spent time playing multiple positions in high school football. Jones was selected as a Texas District 12-3A D-I First-Team selection at quarterback and as a defensive back in his sophomore season. The Texas native threw for 2,836 yards an unbelievable touchdown to interception ratio of 36-1. Jones added 445 yards and eight scores on the ground as well as 41 tackles and five interceptions on defense.

Jones and the rest of the class of 2025 will have an opportunity to watch their future team take the field in Week 11 as the Red Raiders get set to take on the No. 22 Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence.
