How To Watch Big 12 Biggest Women’s Basketball Games For Week 1

The Big 12 women’s basketball season tips off on Monday with games around the country and just about every team in action the first two nights.
Here’s the complete schedule, how to watch each game, and, if you’re so inclined, the three must-watch games of the week.
Louisville at Cincinnati
How To Watch: 5 p.m. CT (6 p.m. ET) Monday, Big 12 Now on ESPN+
The Katrina Merriweather era begins at Cincinnati. It’s a home game against a perennial NCAA Tournament team in Louisville that is now without Hailey Van Lith, who transferred to LSU. But, the Cardinals are still pretty good as they’re ranked No. 17 in the preseason Top 25.
Merriweather is rebuilding her alma mater and she has some great talent from last year’s team including Jillian Hayes and Clarissa Craig. But this game is really worth watching for Mya Jackson, who used her COVID waiver to return after averaging 11.7 points last season.
Oklahoma at Ole Miss
How to Watch: 6 p.m. CT Thursday, SECN
Oklahoma’s first significant test in its final season in the Big 12 will be against a future SEC rival in Ole Miss. Coach Jennie Baranczyk will go into this season short-handed after the season-ending shoulder injury to forward Liz Scott. Still, the Sooners should be talented enough to be among the upper echelon in the Big 12. This is a chance to test themselves against an Ole Miss team that is ranked No. 12 going into the season.
Oklahoma State at Colorado
How to Watch: 2 p.m. CT Sunday, Pac-12 Networks
A well-timed preview of next year’s new Big 12 alignment. OSU coach Jacie Hoyt is breaking in a relatively new team anchored by forward Lior Garzon. Colorado is No. 20 in the preseason poll and will be playing its third game of the week, as it opens the season against defending champion LSU. It should be a great measuring stick game for the Cowgirls. Too bad no one will get to watch it, since it’s on the Pac-12 Networks.
