Dave Aranda Given Best Odds to be Next College Football Coach Fired

NCAA Football: Baylor at Cincinnati

While it is no secret that Baylor head coach Dave Aranda has struggled since winning the Big 12 Conference back in 2021, fans across the nation are beginning to wonder what’s next in Waco.

Aranda was recently listed with the best odds of being the next head coach fired as BetOnline Sportsbook listed Aranda as the +500 favorite.

Aranda was joined by 14 other coaches on the list including Houston’s Dana Holgorsen, USC’s Lincoln Riley, Nebraska’s Matt Rhule, UCLA’s Chip Kelly, and more.

The table is as follows:

Dave Arands (Baylor)+500
Tom Allen (Indiana)+600
Sam Pittman (Arkansas)+600
Ken Wilson (Nevada)+700
Jeff Hafley (Boston College)+700
Danny Gonzales (New Mexico)+900
Dana Holgerson (Houston)+900
Brady Hoke (San Diego State)+900
Billy Napier (Florida)+1000
Matt Rhule (Nebraska)+1000
Ryan Silverfield (Memphis)+1000
Dino Babers (Syracuse)+1200
Mario Cristobal (Mami)+1400
Lincoln Riley (USC)+2000
Chip Kelly (UCLA)+2500

Aranda made headlines on Saturday for mentioning that he feels like he hit rock bottom following the Bears’ 59-25 Week 11 loss to Kansas State, which became Aranda’s 13th loss in the last 23 games.

With the loss to the Wildcats, Baylor misses out on bowl game eligibility for the second time in the Aranda era marking the first time since the 2020 season (2-7). Despite being an abysmal 2-8 in his last 10 conference games, Baylor’s head coach sits with an even win-loss record of 23-23 in his four years with the Bears.

Next week, Aranda and the Bears head to Ft. Worth on Saturday, November 18th to take on the TCU Horned Frogs.
