Texas Leads Four Big 12 Teams in Latest College Football Playoff Top 25

The latest 2023 College Football Playoff rankings were released on Tuesday night, with four teams from the Big 12 still standing after the action in Week 12.

Texas (10-1, 6-1) remains the highest-ranked Big 12 team in the CFP poll, sticking at No. 7 after a 26-16 win over Iowa State on Saturday. The Longhorns defense held Iowa State to just nine yards rushing in the victory and had a couple of scores called back due to penalties, resulting in the game looking closer than it was.

Oklahoma (9-2, 6-2) rose one spot to No. 13 after a 31-24 win over BYU in Provo. The Sooners could be without Dillon Gabriel this week as they face TCU (5-6, 3-5) on Friday morning.

Oklahoma State (8-3, 6-2) rebounded with a 43-30 win over Houston on the road and moved up three spots to No. 20 in this week’s CFP Poll. The Pokes are now just one win away from a likely appearance in the Big 12 Championship Game and they’ll host BYU on Saturday afternoon with a chance to do just that.

Kansas State (8-3, 6-2) picked up a big 31-27 win over Kansas (7-4, 4-4) in the Sunflower Showdown, knocking the Jayhawks from the rankings and moving themselves up two spots to No. 19 with the victory. The Wildcats will now face Iowa State (6-5, 5-3) in Manhattan and will need a win to stay in the Big 12 title hunt.
