Look: Jerry Jones in Austin for Texas vs. Texas Tech Game

NCAA Football: Southern California at Texas

The Big 12 Conference will be featured in Jerry World, a.k.a. AT&T Stadium, next week for the league championship, but before we get there, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wanted to catch some Big 12 football in person on Saturday night.

Jones was in Austin, Texas on Saturday night for the Longhorns’ Big 12 finale against Texas Tech. Jones’ grandson, Paxton Anderson, is being celebrated on Senior Night by UT.

If all goes according to Texas’ plan, Jones will also get to see his grandson suit up next Saturday in his stadium for the Big 12 Championship. The Texas Longhorns just need a win over Texas Tech to advance to the Big 12 Title game in their final season in the league before heading to the SEC with Oklahoma next season.

Over the summer, the Big 12 announced an extension with AT&T Stadium for the Conference Championship to take place through 2030.

“We have enjoyed an incredible relationship with the Big 12 Conference, and are honored to continue hosting the Big 12 Championship Game at AT&T Stadium,” said Dallas Cowboys Chief Operating Officer Stephen Jones. “The games, fans and atmosphere have been incredible, and we’re thrilled to continue the tradition of having the best teams in the Big 12 earn the right to play for the title in Arlington.”

“The Big 12 is thrilled to announce our Football Championship will be staying at AT&T Stadium through 2030,” said Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark. “The Big 12 and AT&T Stadium both call the Metroplex home – through this extension, we will host our Football Championship at a world-class venue in our own backyard. We are grateful for the support and partnership of the Dallas Cowboys organization.”
