How to Watch the 2023 Big 12 Championship

Syndication: Austin American-Statesman

The regular season has come to a close as the Big 12 Championship is set for Saturday between the Texas Longhorns (11-1, 8-1) and the Oklahoma State Cowboys (9-3, 7-2).

Texas rolled through a difficult nonconference slate unscathed and picked up what is now the best win for anyone in the country this season: a 34-24 triumph over Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Texas’ lone loss came to Oklahoma (10-2, 7-2) in the Red River Rivalry back in October, but has gone undefeated since then. The Longhorns locked up their spot in the title game with a dominant 57-7 performance against Texas Tech (6-6, 5-4), leaving no doubt who the No. 1 team in the state of Texas is this season.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma State’s path to Arlington was a bit more eventful than their opponent’s. The Cowboys started their season off at 2-2, including a 33-7 loss at the hands of South Alabama. However, the Pokes started to just hand the ball off to Ollie Gordon after that, and he proceeded to carry them to the promised land. OSU would win seven of their last eight games, including home wins over Oklahoma, Kansas State, and Kansas along the way. Their lone hiccup, a 45-3 no-show against UCF (6-6, 3-6), remains one of the most enigmatic results of the 2023 season. Then, in Week 13, the Pokes overcame a 24-6 deficit to BYU (5-7, 2-7) to clinch their spot in the title game with a 40-34 win in double overtime.

If you are watching the game at home, or at the local sports bar, here’s what you need to know to catch the action.
