Iowa State RB Cartevious Norton Enters Transfer Portal
With transfer portal season officially upon us, college football fans are beginning to witness big names from their favorite teams announce their decision to enter the portal.
Iowa State running back Cartevious Norton released a statement on Monday afternoon that outlined his plans to enter the transfer portal with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Norton was an important piece in Matt Campbell’s offense this season as he finished off the 2023 season with 87 carries for 343 yards and three touchdowns. The writing was on the wall for Norton’s decision to enter the portal as the Georgia native did not travel with the team to Manhattan for the Cyclones’ Week 13 win over Kansas State.
While some players make detailed announcements reflecting on the time spent with a team, the former three-star prospect got straight to the point saying, “First off, I would like to thank Iowa State University and Coach Campbell for giving me an opportunity to chase my dreams. With that being said, I will be entering the transfer portal on Dec. 4th with 2 years of eligibility left. My Plan < God Plan.”
Iowa State will now have a new spot to fill ahead of the 2024 season, but with this offseason shaping up to include one of the busiest portal cycles in college football history, Campbell should have some options available for replacement.
