Kansas State RB Treshaun Ward Enters Transfer Portal
With transfer portal season officially upon us, college football fans are beginning to witness big names from their favorite teams announce their decision to enter the portal.
According to a report from On3’s Matt Zenitz, Kansas State running back Treshaun Ward is entering the transfer portal as a grad transfer with one season of eligibility remaining.
Ward was a big piece of Chris Klieman’s rushing attack in 2023 totaling 124 carries for 643 yards and five touchdowns during his senior season. Despite averaging an impressive 5.2 yards per carry, Ward slipped into a rotation behind sophomore running back DJ Giddens who eclipsed the 1000-yard mark as the team’s feature back.
Treshaun Ward spent one season in Manhattan with the Wildcats after starting his career at Florida State where he ran for a total of 188 carries for 1,241 yards and 12 scores on the ground. Ward becomes the third Wildcat to enter the transfer portal on Monday joining sophomore quarterback Jake Rubely, and sophomore wide receiver Shane Porter.
Kansas State will now have a new spot to fill ahead of the 2024 season, but with this offseason shaping up to include one of the busiest portal cycles in college football history, Klieman should have some options available for replacement.
